DISTRICT planners have rejected a bid to build housing on the site of a former Stourport pub.
Members of Wyre Forest District Council's planning (development control) committee accepted a report which there was "no justification" for the application to build at the Old Anchor Inn site, Worcester Road.
Councillors were told the proposal was contrary to the current and proposed district Local Plan which had identified the site for employment uses.
The report said: "The loss of land potentially for employment uses should not be encouraged."
