I AM the Excel parking attendant who works at Crossley Retail Park, Kidderminster, and yet again I read in the Shuttle/Times and News about another victim of the parking restrictions.
For J Priest's benefit (Letters, December 6) health and safety legislation require the bottom of the sign to be six feet from ground level, so the top of the sign probably is 10ft high.
The writer also states "in small writing at the bottom it tells the reader not to park for more than two hours".
If they look at your photograph, it clearly states this at the top of the sign in clear capital letters.
There is a system in place that provides parking for shoppers using the on-site stores.
Should anybody receive a parking notice for excess parking, who has properly used the stores, this can be dealt with by providing evidence of their business on the park.
The abuse of disabled bays is also an issue raised.
Clearly marked disabled bays are provided close to every store. As stated on the signs "only vehicles displaying a current, valid disabled badge may park in disabled bays".
I feel that is adequate. Any disabled badge user knows full well they have to display the badges for use of the privileged facility wherever they park.
The car park is provided for the use of Crossley Park stores and you have two hours to shop.
This is the advice given when people ask about restrictions and there are 12 signs with these instructions.
There are people who feel it is their right to be objectionable and on numerous occasions I have been verbally attacked and threatened with violence.
Why do people feel they have a right to do this to another human being who is doing his job?
Finally, I would like to thank the numerous parkers who understand the need for restrictions.
As in most cases of conflict it is the few who spoil it for the many.
Don't abuse the facilities provided and you will not suffer the consequences.
