SUNDAY'S proved a comfortable Mercian Elgar League triumph for Rangers but they made hard work of it especially in front of goal.
After missing several early chances, Dan Cotterill broke the deadlock after 16 minutes and it was 2-0 two minutes later when Scott Williams found the net.
Player of the match Ashley Knight then chipped in a third to give Norton a three-goal interval cushion.
A slip at the back gave Vale a lifeline but a Matthew Williams header restored his side's three-goal advantage.
Again Norton squandered a host of chances and Vale hit back with a second but it wasn't enough to prevent the visitors staying on top of the table.
Drakes Broughton U-14 0, Peopleton 7
SIX goals in the second half helped Peopleton to a convincing league triumph.
Home goalkeeper Kieran Groves was the hero in the first half with a string of fine saves but he was powerless to prevent Peopleton's Lea Miller opening the scoring.
Nick Henry then began to provide an endless stream of crosses from which Miller added two more and Scott Hughes also found the net.
Miller added a fourth t his individual tally while setting up Hughes for his second. Andy Lamb's only kick of the match saw him beat brave Groves to wrap up a sparkling seven-goal show.
Bredon U-9 1, Evesham Utd 1
UNITED dropped their first points of the season in a hard-fought clash with a determined Bredon side.
They started brightly and Cieran Gilbert gave them the lead at half-time. However, Bredon soon levelled after the restart and only the efforts of goalkeeper Jordan Willis saved Evesham from a first defeat.

Bredon Colts Hawks 9
A GOAL from Toby Patterson and a stunning 15-yard free-kick by Greg Artis saw the visitors stamp their authority on the game.
A goalmouth scramble saw another goal for Bredon with Patterson adding his second before the break.
In the second half Dan Klaiber produced a beautiful cross for Jordan Johnson to convert from close-range. Craig Johns claimed a sixth after a run from halfway before Greg Artis tapped in his second after Christian Pearce's header came back off the bar.
Despite some spirited defending the home side never managed to gain a foothold with Jack Barber and Christian Pearce adding their names to the score sheet just before the final whistle.
Littleton U-9 8, Elmley Castle 0
LITTLETON made a brisk start to the game with Craig Stanley scoring after only two minutes.
Alex Trinder opened his account soon after and Stanley got his second all in the opening 12 minutes.
Andrew Tomms notched his first goal of for 5-0 at half-time.
The second half continued in the same vein with Trinder completing his hat-trick, a feat later matched by Tomms.
Salford Rvrs U-13 8,
Ombersley Colts 2
ROVERS continued their good form with an emphatic win after a two-week break.
The opening goal came from Ashley Wilkes followed by efforts from Matt Layton, and Tom Barber. Wilkes added a second t make it 4-0 just before the break when Colts replied with an excellent strike.
Colts continued to attack after the restart forcing some good saves from Richard Print before they made it 4-2.
A cross from Josh Cocker, though, saw player of the match Ryan Ellis head home Salford's fifth to virtually wrap up the points.
The hosts scored three more courtesy of Layton, Wilkes and Jamie Coughlan.
Inkberrow 1, Vale Wdrs 5
WANDERERS ended the year in style by defeating Inkberrow 5-1 for the second successive week.
Two goals from skipper Tom McLau-ghlin and a powerful strike from Tom Waghorn ensured that Vale ended the first half three goals to the good.
Vale kept up the pressure despite kicking up the slope and added further goals with Arron Hartwell scoring a fine solo effort and Joshua Soer also finding the net.
Inkberrow had their chances but Vale's defence held firm with Shaun Bennet making some good saves before conceding a late consolation.
Broadway U-8 5, Bredon 1
BROADWAY resumed winning ways with a comfortable victory on Saturday.
Luke McDonagh opened the scoring when he got on the end of a fine throw from Tom Johnstone.
Bredon equalised with a well-struck free-kick before Johnstone put the home side ahead again before half-time.
Broadway started the second period strongly and a an excellent volley gave McDonagh his second goal.
Johnstone then hit a post twice before deservedly getting his second. Drew Clark rounded off a good victory, calmly slotting home after a solo run.

Littleton B 1
A CONVINCING fifth win on the trot for Drakes Broughton saw Owen Johnston score four times and Callum Tidy grab a hat-trick.
The home team's near perfect passing and ball control should have seen them bag double figures and only an outstanding goalkeeping display prevented even more goals.

Badsey Rgrs U-14 8
RANGERS recorded a comfortable win after finding the net six times in the second period.
Antonio Vernaschi outwitted the entire home defence prior to opening the scoring and Dan Willmot added a second with a fierce angled drive.
Crisp passing was the highlight of a dominant second half show as player of the match Vernaschi and Willmot both completed their hat-tricks.
Sam Linley completed a healthy final scoreline with two late well-taken goals.
Littleton Jnrs U-11 2,
Evesham Utd Robins 2
LITTLETON dominated the opening stages and were unlucky when Matt Taylor hit a post.
Tom Mooney produced a string of fine saves to keep the Evesham goal intact and it the Robins who took the lead when Steve Honeysett hammered the ball past Sam Bastow.
Littleton continued to squander chances as they searched for an equaliser and the second half saw the game continue in a similar vein with several missed chances before Honeysett was again on hand to turn the ball into the net for 2-0.
The hosts finally got back into the game when Dan Keen and Matt Goss combined for the former to finish with a lovely shot into the corner.
Ben Johns then saw his shot hit the underside of the bar as they searched for an equaliser and Littleton were finally rewarded when a driving run from Goss saw him fouled in the area and Johns hammered home the resulting penalty.
Evesham FDS U-9 4, Sutton Tn 3
THIS Central Warwickshire League fixture was played in excellent spirit.
FDS were constantly denied by both the woodwork and the goalkeeper before Tom Goodwin struck the first of his four goals midway through the first half.
Sutton made a game of it to only trail by a single goal at half-time before Goodwin scored the goal of the match direct from a free-kick just short of the halfway line.
Excellent contributions from Youster, Cleaton, Whiston and Mallory secured the points.
Littleton A U-8 5, Badsey U-8 4
LITTLETON'S excellent recent form continued as they came out on top of this highly entertaining and thrilling game.
Playing some very attractive football Littleton went ahead early on when a period of sustained pressure was rewarded with a goal from Wesley Burden.
This breakthrough gave the home team greater confidence and they went further ahead with two quick strikes from Burden and Joe Nightingale.
Although 3-0 down, Badsey were not disheartened and were justly rewarded for a period of good play with a goal from Sam Ford. This, however, seemed to spur Littleton on even more and some excellent passing and off the ball movement saw Burden complete his hat-trick with the goal of the game.
Badsey, not overawed by the 4-1 interval scoreline, started the more determined and were quickly rewarded with a second goal for Sam Ford but Burden soon stretched his side's lead to 5-2.
The visitors never gave up the game and continued to pressure the home side and with two further goals from Ford perhaps deserved a draw.
