FOOTBALL-loving Jamie Loveridge has received the perfect pick-me-up after a bad year, according to his mother Laura.
Stourport-based Loveridge, 12, has signed a two-year school of excellence deal with Second Division Walsall after being spotted playing for Mostyn Rangers.
The young Manchester United supporter, who attends Windmill Middle School, hopes his trusty left foot will help him to a professional deal in the future.
His mother said: "He's had a hard time over the last 12 months after I separated from his father.
"But now he has something to concentrate on and hopefully it might be a first step towards something big. He's very dedicated to his football."
Loveridge is training twice a week with Walsall and will play for them on Sundays against other professional clubs.
