WORCESTER Rugby Club's international ladies players Joanne Yapp and Nicola Goodwin were among the winners at the prestigious Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year awards ceremony in London.
The England team, which beat both Australia and New Zealand in a successful tour of the Southern Hemisphere in May and June, won the Sport England Team of the Year Award at the ceremony, beating the women's freestyle relay swimming squad and Arsenal women's football team.
Yapp and Goodwin both attended the ceremony at The Gibson Hall. Their fellow England tourist and Worcester team mate Nicky Crawford, who played in all six tour matches, was unable to attend the ceremony due to work commitments.

Worcester ladies squeezed a tight win against Waterloo in the RFUW Premiership.
It was a tense and hard fought game throughout as both sides battled ferociously for possession.
Worcester got the early breaks thanks to solid running from the base of the scrum and tries from England duo Crawford and Yapp gave the home side a 10-0 lead.
Waterloo fought back with a try of their own and a penalty from number eight Gill Burns, however and the Gold'n'Blues went into the break just 10-8 ahead.
Again, Worcester started the half the stronger side and stretched their lead with a second try from Crawford but they were forced to defend for the final 15 minutes as Waterloo launched numerous attacks on the line.
A second penalty from Burns brought the visitors back into the game but they failed to seize a last-minute win as Worcester defended attack after attack.
Worcester are next in action when they travel to Saracens in the RFUW Premiership on Sunday, January 6.

A few minutes later, Arran Dolphin broke through the Camp Hill cover to score a good individual try, with the conversion coming from Robert Allen. This gave Worcester a 12-0 half-time lead.
For the second half, Worcester replaced their entire pack of forwards, but this had no adverse effect on the team performance.
After an early Camp Hill try, Worcester had two scores disallowed before Tom Fairlie made it third time lucky.
