ROYAL Grammar School, Worcester, hit back from 7-0 down to clinch a fine 13-12 rugby victory over Christ College, Brecon.
With Greg Fincher and Dan James on Midlands trials weekends, Alex Muir and Tom Southall filled their boots with authority. However, within five minutes, Brecon had taken the lead when a gap opened up on the short side for the scrum half to score a converted try.
RGS then produced a series of moves which constantly put Brecon under pressure. They conceded penalties which Frazer Pimlow converted twice before half time to narrow the gap to one point.
The Worcester side continued to apply the pressure before Pimlow managed to grubber kick and chase to score and make it 13-7. With five minutes remaining, Brecon scored a try but failed to convert. And with just one point separating the sides, RGS hung on for what was a gutsy win.
