THOUSANDS of pounds worth of lights are "current-ly" proving a draw in a quiet Kidderminster street where residents are raising cash for charity.
Wendy Nutter, 36, is among six householders in Wilton Avenue who have decided to use their passion for festive illuminations to raise cash for Kemp Hospice. Alice and George Green, Roger Perks and Katie Green enjoy the bright lights.
Mrs Nutter, who moved into the cul-de-sac six months ago with husband Wayne, 38, and their three children, said they had previously decorated their last house with around £300 worth of lights.
But there were others in Wilton Avenue who also decorated their houses and it had been suggested they could use the pulling power of their lights to raise cash for the hospice through collecting boxes.
She added: "There has been a lot of interest. We've had quite a few cars driving up and down the street with people just looking at the lights. People say they're really great."
