COMMUNITY groups in Wyre Forest are being invited to apply for grants of up to £3,000 for projects which will identify, protect and celebrate what is special about their area.
The Discovering Worcestershire Community Grants Scheme is divided into two phases, start-up and implementation grants. The first offers up to £1,000 which can be linked to costs such as project promotion and the cost of hiring a speaker or expert assistance.
The maximum implementation grant of £2,000 can be spent on materials, labour and hiring equipment.
Successful applications in Wyre Forest this year include Kidderminster Carpet Museum Trust who will be creating a display on the history of the Brussels carpet which is due to go on show in the New Year.
Further information about the grants scheme is available from the Countryside Service Projects Team on 01562 766493.
