FAMILY trees with a difference were planted by pupils of Stourport High School at Bishops Wood Centre, Crossway Green.
The old varieties of apple and plum trees represented 47 children placed with adoptive families in Worcestershire during the past year.
Sara Castro, of Worcestershire County Council's adoption and fostering team, said the purpose was to "highlight the success of adoption and fostering ".
Guy Redmond, of Bishops Wood, said: "This is a partnership that brings together social, environmental, conservation and education issues."
The participating pupils also made masks and took part in African drumming and dancing, under the guidance of artist, Paul Hawkins, of Pablo Productions.
Anyone interested in adoption or fostering can contact the county council's freephone line on 0800 028 2158.
