Broadway residents are being urged to check with the village diary before organising village events, to get maximum results.
A new diary has been started for 2002, which will be kept at Jelfs newsagents in High Street.
Parish council chairman Peter Riley highlighted the need for villagers to use it at a meeting last week.
"Time and time again events in the village get double-booked, going on at the same time or the same weekend," he said.
"If people only used the diary to enter their event after checking whether anything else was going on at the same time, there would be a lot less problems."
He explained that although schools and many organisations held fundraising functions, the same regular band of villagers helped put out stalls and tables.
Mr Riley added: "It does make it difficult for helpers to be in two places at once and it's also pointless for fund-raising, because the potential for supporters is halved."
David Jelfs said: "People only need to call in and ask to see the diary to ensure their function doesn't clash."
