GARDENING SOCIETY: The AGM of Bidford-on-Avon and District Gardening Society was held in the Crawford Memorial Hall on November 15. Mr D Humphreys chaired the meeting. The usual reports were read, the most important being the financial one. The treasurer, Mr N Ferguson presented the accounts, which showed a small loss of £4. We have 70 members. It was agreed that the modest annual membership fee should be increased for the forthcoming year to £8 for a full member and £6 for senior citizens. This is still excellent value as the quality of speakers is high and free refreshments are served after the meeting. No new committee members came forward, so the committee remains the same as last year. Drs Andy and Lallie Cox then gave a wonderful slide show of their travels to gardens around the globe. This was much appreciated by members. Now is the time to join again for the next year. The next meeting, complete with mince pies will be on December 20, 7.30pm for 8pm when Reg Moule will talk on Wall Shrubs and Climbers. The monthly competition is cut branch of a climber.
