RECENTLY, someone dumped a considerable amount of frozen food just inside the wood in Wordsworth Avenue, including a very large turkey, also a Longfellow Road sign.
I retrieved the road sign and my wife made four phone calls to council offices to report it. Three of them were to answering machines.
A man came to pick up the road sign but could not collect the frozen food because it was on county council property. He promised to get it removed.
This turkey was approximately six inches inside the boundary fence and easily accessible. I have never heard of anything more ridiculous.
It now pongs a little after lying there for all this time but, if anyone would like to see it, they'll find it near a microwave oven, a large box of carpet ends, a bundle of Why magazines, a dustbin and a road cone.
They removed the electric cooker sometime ago from this waste tip number two that's frequently used when waste tip number one is closed.
