LONG-SERVING Bewdley High School headteacher Margaret Griffiths' successor has been announced.
David Derbyshire will take charge of the Stourport Road school on April 1 next year.
He will replace Miss Griffiths who is leaving at the end of this term after 14 years at the helm.
Mr Derbyshire has taught at schools in Northampton and Oxfordshire, where he is currently vice principal at Banbury School.
Miss Griffiths announced in the summer she was planning to stand down.
She cited a change in the role of the headteacher - with an increasing burden of paperwork - as one of the main reasons for her departure.
