BENGEWORTH Lions go into the New Year with a four-point lead in Division Two and remain unbeaten following a 6-4 victory over closest rivals and clubmates Green.
Colin Green won three and Paul Gearey two for the Lions but the match only decided by the doubles. Captain Geoff Clarke teamed up with Green to beat Dan Wood and Aileen Berry 13-11, 5-11, 9-11, 11-4, 11-9 to take the match.
Green followed this with an 8-2 victory over Wyre Netting when Wood was unbeaten. Graham Gooderham won three for the Netting at Littleton Loo-pers but still finished up a loser as Martin Brown, Andrew Tay-lor and Bruce Ford won 6-4.
Ken Sefton won his three singles when Bengeworth Sapp-hires beat the Loopers 6-4. Craig Norledge beat Don Bailey and Joan Parfitt when the Sapphires visited Wyre Barbedwyre but Keith Diver was unbeaten for the home side in an easy 8-2 win.
Littleton Supermarine crashed to a sixth successive defeat when they lost 6-4 to Benge-worth 49ers.
