A REMARKABLE woman living near Droitwich Spa was inundated with cards and fresh blooms when she celebrated her 100 birthday.
Marjorie Higgins' room at Rashwood Nursing Home now looks like a florist shop, according to carer Linda Laight.
Four generations of Mrs Higgins' family attended a party, where the birthday girl was presented with not one -- but two cakes last Saturday. The widower also received a card from the Queen.
Home activities co-ordinator Linda Laight said: "Mrs Higgins is a perfect lady, she's a wonderful happy person and very bright for her age.
The pensioner, who has lived through two World Wars, moved from her Chaddesley Corbett home to Rashwood, in 1997.
