THE landlord of a village pub near Droitwich Spa is determined to find an antidote to today's brash Christmas.
Paul Ryder, at the Robin Hood, Wychbold, wants guests to share anything from old recipes for puddings and drinks through to decorations for the tree.
In return, the best suggestion will be rewarded with a free festive meal for two.
Paul said: "The Victorians were responsible for shaping the modern festival but I think they would be horrified at the ghastly things we see today, such as singing Santa figures and garish plastic decorations.
"All I want to do is reinforce the feel of Christmas, how it used to be -- a bit of peace and goodwill to all, rather than the noise and glitz.
"If someone knows of a local tradition or even something their family passed down from generation to generation, I would love to hear from them."
Anyone who wants to share their ideas can see Paul at the Bromsgrove Road pub.
