THE opening of a centre at the heart of Spa voluntary activity has been celebrated.
Folks were out in force to mark the formal opening of the Old Library Centre, in Ombersley Street East, which has undergone a massive refurbishment.
A service of dedication was held at the neighbouring Baptist church and town mayor Maureen Lawley was on hand, along with representatives of town voluntary groups and charities.
The £306,000 refurbishment was funded by a lottery grant and centre manager Sue Poyer was pleased to unveil a new platform lift.
The £13,000 lift, which will give easy access for people in wheelchairs, was paid for by the West Mercia Environmental Fund and the Lloyds TSB Foundation.
