WITH a potential 'four pointer' next week against Barkers Butts, Malvern Rugby Club rest several first team regulars who are carrying injuries for the friendly against Burton at Spring Lane tomorrow (Saturday).
Forwards Steve Cooper, Jon Owen, Steve Taylor and Anthony Garner all step down along with Vince Hill who missed the Banbury game. Skipper Andy Longley is rested along with fellow backs Richard Fleming, Gareth Richards and George Blakeway.
Director of rugby David Robins said: "This friendly gives a chance for those carrying niggling injuries to recuperate whilst we can give some of our up and coming squad members a run in the first XV. Stuart Lucas props in the senior side for the first time, whilst Ollie Banwell and Paul Hart come in at flanker and Ian 'Beano' White takes over at scrum half.
"Alistair Hills, a product of our youth set-up, has been given a deserved outing after some stirring performances in the seconds. Dave Irish captains and Ben Hughes and Simon Phillips return with Rob Young moving to full back."
