GUESTS at the Barn, Gadfield Elm House enjoyed a warming glass of mulled wine on arrival at Staunton PCC's Christmas in Times Past party and later sat down to a splendid four course meal in very convivial company.
The Barn had taken on a very festive Christmas appearance and looked most attractive and welcoming. In the absence of Audrey Smith, who is recovering from an operation, Prim Goldring took over the responsibility with great support from Jennifer Clayton and all the backup team, both men and women, too many to mention individually. Nigel Smith MC'd the proceedings backed up by Canon John Evans.
Later Margaret Riley accompanied the singing of a selection of Christmas songs and carols amongst a great deal of hilarity. Canon Evans thanked everyone for their help and Ursula Groves-Smith supported it with a very special thank you to John and Jane Evans and everyone who once again had supported the event.
