THE Malvern Angels (U16's) hosted teams from Camp Hill and Droitwich at Malvern RFC, Spring Lane in their first friendly Rugby 7's Tag Tournament on Sunday.
Both Malvern and Camp Hill had a good turn out of players, giving the opportunity to make an All-stars mixed team, allowing all players to play every match. The Malvern Angels used the occasion to experience real life game play and worked really hard as a team, against strong opposition.
The tournament was a fun day, with no winners and no losers. All teams played well, with the games being played in a competitive yet friendly manner.
Malvern Angels would like to thank all their supporters who came down to watch and also helped out on the day.
The vice chairman, Penny Smallwood, said: "It's really great for the girls to have an idea of what they are training for now, and also for the coaches to see the results of the hard work that has gone into the team in the past three months."
"We are really pleased that the Angels are finally putting themselves onto the map of Womans rugby and we are hoping for great things."
Malvern Angels train on Sunday mornings between 10.30 and noon, or if you can't make it down to the club, but have queries, telephone Penny on 01905 350352 (evenings) or the chairman of the Malvern Angels, Barry Kirby on 01905 339137, or email them at Malvernangels@hotmail.com
