THE Solven brothers of Storridge have just finished an exciting and very arduous season's windsurfing, where they have both raced in two complete National Series.
In the National Formula Windsurfing Championship Series (Course Racing), Guy achieved an amazing 11th overall and 2nd Esprit (Under 22) in the Gold Elite fleet.
In the Silver fleet Harry was first overall and first youth (at only 15) sailing exceptionally well throughout. In the Spirit Free race series (Slalom racing) Guy came fifth overall and first Esprit in the Gold Fleet and Harry was second overall and first junior.
Harry qualified for the Junior, Youth and Masters World Championships in Rome in August, were he came 19th overall and first junior.
He also competed in the Euro Cup at Lake Silvaplana, Switzerland, where he raced in the men's fleet, as there was no junior event. He was 50th overall and second junior. In the RYA Youth and Masters at Weymouth in September, he was second overall, beating the youth champion, Robbie Swift, in the long distance race by 1 minute 48 seconds!
The brothers have enjoyed their sailing tremendously this year and have each competed in over 20 National and International events.
They are looking forward to next season already, where they hope to participate in even more Euro Cups and the World Championships, as well as the National Series.
