ENOUGH money to buy wipe-clean "slates" for every pupil at Longdon St Mary's Primary School was raised at a medieval fayre at Upton Memorial Hall.
The project to introduce the modern version of the traditional slates to aid class teaching was the brainchild of head Lynne Phoenix.
Just £200 more was needed to completely fund the project and over £500 was raised at last Saturday's event, which was organised by the schools parents and friends association.
A raffle, stalls, face-painting and Santa's grotto all helped raise the money, along with Christmas cards featuring a picture of the school's class of 1919.
Any money left over from the purchase of slates will be put towards a projector and laptop for the school.
