Three gas lamps have been stolen from West Malvern - just weeks after the Victorian landmarks were Grade II listed.
The glass and metal lantern tops were taken from standards on West Malvern Road, at the southern end of the village.
The theft happened some time between 4pm on Wednesday, December 5, and early the next day.
The disappearance of the lanterns was noticed by a local resident, who informed the parish council. The council then notified police.
The lantern tops, valued at £150 for all three, are owned by the parish council and maintained by Malvern Hills District Council.
Colin Jackson, chairman of the parish council, said: "We're looking at getting them replaced as soon as possible and we hope it will be covered by insurance.
"It does seem to be a surprising coincidence that this has happened within a few weeks of the lamps being listed."
Ninety-five of the 108 gas lamps across the Malvern area, including those West Malvern, were Grade II listed last month.
PC Vince Treagus said: "I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the theft, which would have involved the thieves climbing up the lampposts, or anyone with information about the whereabouts of the lamps now, to contact the police on 01905 723888, quoting c/540134.
"Alternatively, ring the confidential Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555111."
