EVESHAM United's leading scorer Andrew Hodgetts has left the club in the wake of last weekend's 6-0 home thumping against Chippenham Town.
The 20-year-old, who netted an impressive 35 goals in 50 games for the Robins, has left the club by "mutual consent" said manager Phil Mullen, who plans to bring in more strikers to boost his squad.
Hodgetts, once of Kidderminster Harriers, said he had been unhappy at the club in recent weeks, and plans to consider his options over Christmas.
Mullen said: "For the past two or three weeks I have been trying to bring in additional strikers. I have had no joy at the moment but still have a couple of irons in the fire.
"If I can get a couple of the players I have been chasing it will certainly improve the team."
Mullen was pleased at how they boun-ced back from the Chippenham horror show in their 2-1 defeat to Solihull in midweek. "We were a lot better and deserved something out of the game."
The Robins have no game tomorrow in the Dr Martens League Western Division, but entertain Halesowen Town in the Worcestershire Senior Cup quarter-final on Tuesday (7.45).
* Stourport Swifts also have no game tomorrow. They must wait until next Saturday for their next game, at home to promotion-chasing Clevedon Town.
