A POTENTIALLY fatal drug that can have immediate effects if injected has been stolen from a village car park near Bromsgrove.
This week police have issued an urgent appeal to anyone who finds the "extremely dangerous" drug to hand it in at a police station, hospital or pharmacy straight away.
The haul was taken between 12.30pm and 1.15pm last Saturday, December 8, when a red Renault Clio parked at Nimmings Wood car park, in Clent, was broken into.
Amongst the items stolen was a black bag containing a blood testing kit and diabetic drugs.
Some of the stolen items were later found in a lay-by off St Kenelm's Pass, in Clent.
Dangerous
A Kidderminster police spokesman said: "The stolen drugs are extremely dangerous and consist of two brown glass cartridges marked human actrapid.
"This is inserted into a dark red pen injector which resembles a fountain pen.
"The drug acts rapidly by dropping blood sugar levels and it can cause coma or death.
"It will act within 30 to 60 minutes if swallowed and the effects last up to eight hours.
"If injected, the effects will be immediate."
Anyone with information, should call Kidderminster police on (01562) 820888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
