CASH is pouring in for the campaign to light up Bromsgrove this Christmas in memory of a loved one -- but you need to hurry if you want to make a donation.
For the sixth year running your favourite newspaper, the Bromsgrove Advertiser/Messenger, has teamed up with the Primrose Hospice and Cancer Help Centre for the Lights of Love appeal.
And with less than two weeks to go the appeal has already raised £11,000 and looks set to beat last year's total of £12,000.
Everyone who donates to the Lights of Love campaign can have a light in memory of a friend or a relative on the Christmas tree in Mill Lane, Bromsgrove.
Names of loved ones and donors will be printed around the base and will also be on display in a book of remembrance at Bromsgrove Methodist Church, in School Drive, until January 5, 2002.
Fundraising manager, Jane Wardman, said: "We are absolutely delighted the appeal has been so successful, and there's still time to make a donation. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we can beat last year's total."
The final update of the boards around the base of the tree will be on Thursday, December 20, for donations received no later than Wednesday, December 19.
Anyone sending in forms and donations after December 19 will still receive a certificate in memory of their loved on.
