EVESHAM firefighters found body armour thought to belong to someone from a historical re-enactment group following an arson attack on a car.
They found the armour in the boot of the Ford Sierra estate when they were called to the fire in Cowl Street at 2am last Sunday (December 9).
Evesham sub officer Mel Turbutt said he believed the armour, which survived the blaze, belonged to someone from a battle re-enactment society.
He said: "There was the full kit in there: helmet, breastplate and backplate. We think it might be modelled on something from the Cromwell era."
