KEMPSEY United returned to winning ways to reach the last four of the Malvern League's Sunday Senior Cup last weekend.

Their home tie against Talbot Head started well for United as Stuart Stanton opened the scoring for the home side. Midway during the half and the advantage was increased by Steve Frear, although a well taken free-kick by Nick Docker put Talbot Head within one goal of their opponents before half time.

The second half was a tight affair, but following the introduction of substitute Ryan Leigh, United took full advantage and Leigh scored twice to take Kempsey United into the last four of the competition with a 4-1 victory.

Joining Kempsey United will be the unbeaten Bull Allstars who maintained their run with a 7-1 win over Old Bush Willie Thornes. Scoring for the home side were Joey Smith, Mark Toman, Kevin Brookes, a brace from Paul James and an own goal from Chris Munn. Andy Growcott got a consolation goal for the visitors.

Club AC 30 returned to action after a 14 day break and the recuperated outfit from Worcester met Interthornes for the first time this season and inflicted 13 goals against their opponents without reply.

Leading scorer Aaron Parr notched up another four goals and he was accompanied with goals from Jason Payton-Smith (three), Leon Rooke (two), Matt Reece (two) and one each from Tony Reece and Danny Morris respectively. Interthornes, sponsored by Willie Thornes, will be hoping for better fortune as they return to League action this Sunday at home to Morgan Aero 8.

In the remaining quarter-final tie Callow End Harriers returned to Fromes Hill looking to avenge their 8-0 league defeat three weeks prior, but they found Fromes Hill in no mood for mercy as again the home side found their shooting boots to record a 5-2 win.

Goals for Fromes Hill were shared between Martin Davies, skipper Matt Ehrlich, Andy Davies and a brace from Paul Stubbs to continue their recent run of form.

Harriers goalscorers were Wayne Eggerton and Steve Burston.

The draw to decide the semi-final ties of the Sunday Senior Cup, sponsored by the Soccer Site, will be made on Monday (December 17) when the league hold a special general meeting to nominate David Gwynne as the new league president and David Wise as vice-chairman. The meeting starts at 7.30pm at the Civil Service Sports Club, Pickersleigh Road, Malvern and all club representatives are expected to attend.

In the only Under 18s Youth Division fixture, sponsored by www.thesoccersite. co.uk, Libbery Wanderers and Welland faced one another for the second time in succession on Sunday, following Wellands' 4-3 win in the Rose Bowl last week.

It was a similar scoreline second time around as Welland defeated Libbery Wanderers 3-2 having twice come back from behind. This was a sporting, skilful encounter which was a credit to the league.

A full league schedule this Sunday sees Club AC 30 travel to Brewery, leaders Bull Allstars visit Talbot Head, Bell Inn 98 returning to League action against Old Bush Willie Thornes, Kempsey United hosting Callow End Harriers and a local derby at Lower Howsell Road with Interthornes facing Morgan Aero 8.

In the remaining first round tie of the Rose Bowl competition Warndon Youth await the visit of Malvern Town, a game which will kick-off at 1.45pm on Sunday.
