AFTER last week's defeat Radar returned to winning ways with a hard fought win against Martley Reserves last Sunday.

MALVERN RADAR 2, MARTLEY SPURS RES 1

The three goals were scored in the first half and were all well taken efforts. Radar scored after 10 minutes when Nial Henderson held the ball up well on the edge of the area before laying it back to John Rooney who promptly blasted it into the net with an excellent left foot shot.

It was 2-0 on the half hour when Trevor Bagnall hit a great shot from the corner of the 18 yard box, Dave Marshall helping it into the net.

Martley were certainly putting the effort in and it was no real surprise when they pulled a goal back.

The ball bounced up on the edge of the box and Stuart Jones swivelled and volleyed the ball into the top corner leaving Chris Ball with no chance.

The second half was rather dour with plenty of midfield battling going on but very few chances, the closest either team came to scoring was when Darren Loader had a header cleared off the line and in the ensuing melee the ball was booted clear again off the goal line.

Radar are again at home on Sunday against Lakes Sports. Players meet 9.45 at Victoria Park.
