A FORMER Worcester man released from a Greek jail after more than five weeks has returned to work this morning.
Ex-Nunnery Wood High School pupil Wayne Groves wanted to go back to his job as a railway manager today.
"He just wanted to get back to normal as soon as possible," said his mother Sheila, speaking from the family home in Kilbury Drive, Whittington today.
Mr Groves, of Tamworth, had been held in custody since Thursday, November 8 on espionage charges.
It was only after his family raised £9,000 for bail he was released, with his 13 fellow plane-spotters on Friday.
"We've had a lovely weekend together and he'll be coming home for Christmas," added Mrs Groves.
But 38-year-old Mr Groves has to return to Greece in the New Year to face charges of "psychologically supporting" the other aviation enthusiasts.
The group of 12 Britons and two Dutchmen were detained at an airbase in the south-eastern town of Kalamata, after allegedly taking photographs and making notes about military aircraft.
