THE driver of a Reliant Robin who was killed in a three-car collision near Worcester has been named.
Mervyn Walker, aged 64, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened on the A44 Bromyard Road at Cotheridge, at 6.50am last Thursday, December 13.
Police closed the road for the whole morning to carry out investigations into the incident after firecrews had battled for nearly an hour to free the driver of a blue Volvo 940 which was also involved in the smash.
The Volvo driver, who is believed to be in his 50s, was airlifted to Birmingham's Selly Oak Hospital where his condition was today said to be comfortable.
The driver of a Vauxhall Astra which was the third vehicle involved in the incident escaped injury.
An inquest on Mr Walker, who lived at Whitbourne, is due to open on Wednesday. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident at the junction of the A44 and Otherton Lane to contact PC Howard Latham on 01905 723888.
