A TEENAGER who robbed a widow as she walked to a cemetery had a sudden twinge of conscience and returned her shopping bag - but without a handful of cash.
The pensioner was attacked as she walked along the alleyway that runs to Pickersleigh Road, Malvern.
She was on her way to visit her husband's grave.
The attacker, believed to be between at the age of 16 to 17, jumped on his victim and grabbed her shopping bag from her, causing her to fall to the ground.
He then disappeared, but returned a few minutes later and gave the shopping bag back to the woman, minus some small change, before making off again.
"Less than £5 was taken," said Vicki Davies, a spokeswoman for Worcester police.
The elderly woman sustained facial injuries as a result of the attack and was taken to Ronkswood hospital.
The incident took place on 11am on Sunday, December 16.
"Obviously the attacker has a conscience and I'd ask him to contact me urgently," said PC Stuart Allen.
"Anyone with information about the identity of this man or has an other relevant information about this awful crime should contact the police on 01905 723888 quoting c/543213.
