HOUSING association tenants have expressed their support for the proposed merger between the Partnership Housing Association and Droitwich Spa housing groups.
Three quarters of tenants, including Elgar tenants in Malvern, who replied to a consultation survey, are reported to favour the March union, which aims to cut costs and keep rents competitive.
Elgar says no jobs will be lost in the process. It hopes the move will help improve the repairs service, increase opportunities for building new homes, improve tenant involvement and give the organisation a more influential voice.
After the merger, which is subject to the approval of the Housing Corporation, Elgar will continue as an independent organisation with its own board of management.
