RESIDENTS had to be evacuated from a block of flats in Headless Cross after a severe fire broke out on Saturday evening.
A woman was taken to hospital with burns and smoke inhalation as 20 firefighters tackled the bedroom blaze in Guinness Close.
Police and fire investigation teams were also drafted in to determine the cause of the blaze, which started at about 7.50pm, and fire crews were on the scene until 4.30pm on Sunday.
Redditch station officer Pete Baker said smoke detectors again proved their worth as residents above the fire heard them going off.
The fire investigation team concluded the fire was accidental.
