REDDITCH United tripped at the first hurdle of the Worcestershire Senior Cup with a disappointing 3-0 defeat to high-flying Solihull Borough at the Valley Stadium.
United were effectively out of the game after four minutes when Solihull raced into a two goal lead, scoring with their first two attacks.
Solihull began the game at lightning pace when Peter Sutton picked out Chris Smith's angled run and the striker lifted the ball into the net with only two minutes on the clock.
Two minutes later they doubled their lead following a break into the box by Craig Dutton. The midfielder pulled the ball to Ian Cooper who crashed the ball past Neil Olden to make it 2-0.
In added time Boro's leading scorer Derek Hall saw his shot ricochet off a Redditch defender and past the hapless Olden to complete a miserable night for United.
Worcester City thumped Harrow Hill 7-0 in a Midland Floodlit Youth League Southern Division clash last night.
Their scorers were Ben Humber (2), Dan Parker, Jon Warman, Matt Stock (penalty), Manprit Briah and Richard Tompkins.
