A CHRISTMAS tree cultivated at one of Severn Trent's own water treatment works has been donated to a Worcestershire hospital.
The Princess of Wales Community Hospital in Bromsgrove has taken delivery of the tree to brighten up the festive season for patients and staff in the rehabilitation ward.
The tree is one of 20 donated and being delivered to charities and other organisations across the Midlands.
"We wanted to help brighten up the ward and give it a festive feel in the run up to Christmas, and what better way than to donate a tree for patients and staff to decorate," said Stephanie Meek from Severn Trent Energy.
"All the trees which are donated to the various charities will be replaced when we plant new saplings in the spring. By doing this we'll be able to sustain a new crop of trees and so brighten up Christmas for even more people in the future."
A spokeswoman for the Bromsgrove hospital said the gift was "much appreciated" by everyone.
