LEAGUE tables for eight to 11-year-olds show district schools following the national trend with results in science up, maths down and English similar to last year.
Top of the Wyre Forest list was St Wulstan's RC First School, Stourport, ranked eighth in the county, where 100 per cent of pupils scored Level 4 or above in English, 100 per cent of pupils in science and 85 per cent in maths. Headteacher Andrew Kinsells said: " We have a good set of children and they work very hard. We're very fortunate.
"We also get very good support from parents and have had very good staff over the years.
"I have never been at a school where they have got so much voluntary help, about 30 people who help children achieve. And they're not just parents - it's a team effort, a real community school."
St Anne's Middle School, Bewdley, was next - 37th - where 84 per cent of pupils achieved Level 4 in English, 85 per cent in maths and 68 per cent in science.
It is followed by St Ambrose RC Primary, Kidderminster - 38th. Here, 82 per cent of youngsters scored Level 4 or higher in English, 70 per cent in maths and 97 per cent in science. Astley CE Primary, Stourport, was fourth highest in the district- 43rd in the county - where 82 per cent of pupils achieved Level 4 or above in English, 73 per cent in maths and 91 per cent in science. St John's CE Middle School, Kidderminster, was fifth, 52nd in the county, with 83 per cent scoring Level 4 in English, 61 per cent in maths and 93 per cent in science. They were followed by Wribbenhall Middle School, Bewdley, 58th countywide, 73 per cent achieving 73 per cent in English, 72 per cent in maths and 86 per cent in science.
Burlish Middle School, Stourport, was seventh in the district 59th countywide, 71 per cent getting Level 4 in English, 74 per cent in maths and 83 per cent in science, while at Comberton Middle School, Kidderminster, eighth and 68th respectively, 74 per cent scored Level 4 in English, 59 per cent in maths and 88 per cent in science.
At Sion Hill Middle School, ninth and 77th, 68 per cent of youngsters found success at Level 4 in English, 54 per cent in maths and 78 per cent in science. Franche Middle School, Kidderminster, placed 10th and 78th, had 60 per cent achieving Level 4 in English, 62 per cent in maths and 78 per cent in science.
Elsewhere, at Lickhill Middle School, Stourport, 11th and 80th, 74 per cent got Level 4 in English, 49 per cent in maths and 75 in science and at Sladen CE Middle School, Kidderminster, 12th and 83rd, 69 per cent of pupils got Level 4 in English, 45 per cent in maths and 76 per cent in science. Birchen Coppice Middle School, Kidderminster, 13th and 86th, 55 per cent got Level 4 in English, 47 per cent in maths and 77 per cent in science.
