JOHN Brain is hoping to extend Simon Lewis' trial period at Sixways after his impressive start to his Worcester Rugby Club career.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed two fine performances for the Warriors since his trial began at Sixways and coach Brain is eager to have another look at the winger.
Lewis - a product of Bradford Bulls' academy - played his first two competitive Rugby Union games in victories over Rugby Lions and Leicester Tigers and bagged three tries during the matches. And despite interest from a number of Rugby League clubs, Brain is hopeful of keeping Lewis at Worcester.
"Simon has come to Worcester because he wants to play Union," said Brain, "So I'm hopeful we can agree an extension of his loan period. There is obviously a lot of interest from Rugby League but I want him to stay for at least another two months.
"Obviously he is a good young player. He has done well in his first two games and I definitely want another look at him."
