THE founder of Stourport Choral and Operatic Society has been commemorated in a special badge.
A badge of office made especially for president Mary Southall, who has held the office for 23 years, will be presented this Saturday.
It is engraved with "In memory of David Oakley, founder of Stourport Choral and Operatic Society".
Mr Oakley, who died last year, founded the choir more than 40 years ago.
He often broadcast with the BBC Singers, and conducted the music section of Stourport Three Arts Guild from which the choral and operatic society evolved.
The badge will be presented at the group's annual Christmas Concert by Wyre Forest MP Dr Richard Taylor, who has become patron of the society.
