NOTING the urgent need to raise funds at the 11th hour to defeat the construction of a monster burner on the British Sugar site in Kidderminster, we acknowledge the splendid work that is being done by Clare Cassidy and the SKI group.
It is said that £8,000 must be raised in January to make our case properly to the inspector hearing the appeal.
While Dr Richard Taylor's Health Concern group is likely to respond with a significant contribution we will be pledging individual donations of £40 too.
We are very worried about the imposition of such an awful blight upon our area with added road traffic chaos and pollution affecting children and older residents in particular, plus, of course, the inevitable plunge in property values.
We do strongly urge all individuals, groups, companies, businesses, hotels, pubs and shops who possibly can, to collect and send in a donation to SKI, at 2 Rhuddlan Way, Kidderminster DY10 1YH, without delay.
