I AM writing in response to the comments made in the story entitled "Dutch-style cannabis caf bid" (Shuttle/Times and News, November 29).
The story states that the Dutch Experience Caf in Stockport, Greater Manchester, was a success.
This was not the case. As soon as the caf opened the police made 12 arrests.
Two of the 12 were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the management of a premises contrary to the mis-use of drug legislation.
One was arrested for possessing cannabis with intent to supply and the other nine for possessing a controlled drug.
Although the classification has changed from class B to class C, it is still a criminal offence.
Perhaps Mr Hyde should gain all the facts before attempting to open something similar in Kidderminster, or face the consequences.
