Norton Rgrs U-14 7, Droitwich 1
RANGERS remain top of the Mercian Elgar League table after a comfortable Sunday success.
The expected goal spree didn't materialise, however, as the visitors produced some excellent defending while also keeping Norton on their toes at the back with some good breaks.
The home side's opener was slightly lucky as a cross from Matthew Williams struck a defender to leave the Droitwich keeper helpless.
There were three more goals before the interval with Scott Williams scoring twice and Tommy Sandles the fourth before a reshuffle in the home ranks saw Sandles take over in goal and gift Droitwich their consolation.
Scott and Matthew Williams and Peter Stedman were all rested, while regular goalkeeper and player of the match Alex Gretton beat three defenders before netting Norton's fifth.
Ashley Knight then hit the bar before Joe Mulrennan and Peter Marquis finished the scoring to leave the winners in pole position with one more fixture left until halfway.
Peopleton U-14 9, Martley 0
SEVEN second half goals propelled Peopleton to an easy three points.
Andy Lamb and Luke Radford struck before the break but the floodgates opened after the restart with Matt Bulmer's first of the season starting the romp.
Scott Hughes and Lea Miller both scored twice, while Bulmer and Lamb both added to their tally. Mike Bulford was excellent in defence but an injury to Ross Sailes tarnished an otherwise enjoyable outing.
Lyppard Rgrs 1, Salford Rvrs U-13 2
ROVERS made hard work in recording victory from Sunday's visit to Lyppard.
All three goals came in the first 20 minutes with Salford finding the net first when Ashley Wilkes superbly volleyed in from a Josh Cocker corner.
Lyppard replied three minutes later to make it all square but Jamie Coughlan then flicked a neat ball through for Ryan Ellis to slot in a second for the visitors
Both keepers were kept busy in the second half but, thanks to some excellent saves from Richard Print and strong defending from player of the match Sean Read and Jack Stedman, Rovers hung on to take the points.
Evesham Utd U-11 2, Moretonville Hawks 0
UNITED took on their main rivals on a frosty pitch and came out on top with a goal in each half.
The win maintained Evesham's lead at the top of the Witney League after an 1th straight league win.
Evesham edged the play in the first half driven from midfield by Adam Styles, but it was captain Jordan Shelton who shot from inside the area to give Evesham the half-time lead.
In the second half injuries caused changes to the home side's formation but they continued to make chances with Lance Smith going close on several occasions.
However, it was Daniel Trotman who secured the points to allow Evesham to control the closing stages with sweeper Matthew Rose taking the player of the match award.
Worcester Rgrs 0, Evesham Utd U-15 4
EVESHAM gained three more points thanks to goals from Luke Kennedy, Shaun Stanley (2) and Kyle Holder.
United dominated from start to finish and, with better finishing against a lesser goalkeeper, they could have had another ten!
Badsey Rgrs U-12 9, Charlton Rvrs B 0
BADSEY continued their impressive run with another emphatic win against a team at the bottom of the league.
Badsey, having not conceded a goal in their last four games while scoring an impressive 32, again controlled the game from the start.
Joe Smith, playing his second game as a striker, scored two goals in the first five minutes. There was never a doubt as to the outcome of the game, but Charlton then had a period of 20 minutes when they packed ten players behind the ball and made it very difficult for Badsey to break them down.
However, Ben Holland increased the lead eight minutes before half time. This opened the game up and Jamie Clarke opened his account for the afternoon by scoring two in as many minutes to make the half time score 5-0.
Clarke completed his hat-trick within a minute of the restart and scored a further two goals before the half was ten minutes old.
The second half then followed a similar pattern to the first with Charlton packing players behind the ball to make life difficult for Badsey.
Chances continued to come for Badsey to increase their lead but these were missed until two minutes from the end when Smith completed his treble.
Dave Clifton was voted man of the match with Clarke runner up.
This win consolidates Badsey's third position in the league and takes them to within a point of second.
