FOLLOWING the "View on the Street" which appeared in the Shuttle/Times and News on December 13, I would like to make the following observations.

Wyre Forest MP Richard Taylor has shown his true colours by accepting a Conservative place on the House of Commons Health Committee.

He has still failed to recognise that healthcare in the 21st century will be heavily dependent on primary care. Secondary care is expensive, high tech and suited only to specialist centres of excellence.

His only significant support from practitioners continues to come from those who are retired, like himself.

He has said "Oh dear, how sad" when major employers such as National-Standard have closed, instead of getting in there and fighting to save jobs.

He has criticised at every turn, but failed to come up with any constructive ideas of his own.

His Health Concern district council has become a nightmare for the people of Wyre Forest. Ask those who are trying to park, or those who are trying to run a town centre business, or those who want safe play areas for their children.

I have recently moved house and find myself in the Leominster constituency.

Thankfully, I am represented by a Conservative MP. I don't agree with him and I don't support his party, but at least I know what he stands for, and so does he - unlike Richard Taylor.
