WYRE Forest, undefeated since September, beat Mahal 2-0 to climb above Bewdley in the table.
Andy Oakes scored with a superb overhead kick from Richard Hughes' cross on five minutes.
And on 10 minutes Hughes added a fine individual goal to give Forest a flying start.
But Forest were rocked with bad knocks forcing Richard Costello and Mark Allen off.
Keeper Darren Pace was forced into a great save before Mahal had the better of a scrappy second half.
However, Hughes shot wide from close range, while Scott Bayliss and sub Jack Wassell were strong in the defence.
