Powick 3, Bishampton 4
BISHAMPTON visited Powick for the second time this season and again the sides produced a glut of goals.
The home team attacked from the start keeping Bishampton on the defensive, and it was no surprise when they scored. Lee Richardson shooting home from ten yards with only nine minutes on the watch.
The visitors had a few more scares in the first 15 minutes but eventually got to grips with the frosty conditions underfoot and began to apply pressure.
This paid off when Greg Mason played the ball to Andrew Murphy and his shot on the turn found the net.
Bishampton were now enjoying the majority of the game and they took the lead on the half-hour when the Powick keeper allowed a Carlo Longhi shot to trickle under his foot and into the net.
Powick struggled to regain the control they had in the early stages and the visitors saw out the half comfortably.
The second period saw both teams attacking and more goals were on the cards. Bishampton increased their lead when Murphy charged down an attempted clearance and shot into the corner of the net.
This two-goal advantage lasted only ten minutes when James Bottomley fired a loose ball into the Bishampton net.
Bishampton were then indebted to keeper Rob Bille for a fine double save.
Within minutes the visitors had restored their two-goal advantage. Murphy was put clear on the right by Myles Fenn and, as the keeper advanced, he lobbed the ball over his head to complete his hat-trick.
With time running out Powick piled forward and reduced the arrears through Richard Thompson in the final minute but it proved to be the last action of an entertaining game.
