WHILE having sympathy for Simon Clifford over the loss of the cornet (Shuttle/Times and News, December 13), I cannot find suitable words to express my utter astonishment at his complete lack of any sense of responsibility.

It is bad enough to leave one's own valuable possessions in a car overnight, but to risk something that is not strictly his is nothing but crass stupidity.

I do not see that an insurance company can be asked to replace the instrument following what really is gross negligence.
