WORCESTER Norton Hockey Club travelled to Birmingham to play in the qualifying tournament for the prestigous National League Indoor Cup and finished third.
Playing against one side who are four leagues above Worcester in the outdoor standings and another two that are two leagues above, it was always going to be difficult.
The team produced some excellent displays, losing 7-4 to the eventual winners Barford Tigers and then drawing the other two games 6-6 against Khalsa and 4-4 against Olton.
These results meant Worcester finished a well deserved third.
Worcester now have a break of two weeks from Saturday hockey, but entertain Pershore in a friendly at Nunnery Wood Sports Centre on Boxing Day, 10am start.
