Evesham: Hundreds of Vale children stayed at home yesterday and others took a packed lunch to school because of a one day strike called by the National Union of Public Employees. But 58 children, boarders at the Vale of Evesham School, had a special treat. They were taken out to lunch at the Old Vinecroft Caf in Vine Street, where they had roast pork, apple sauce, and a choice of two vegetables - followed by apples and custard.
