Harvington: Work on the £416,000 Harvington by-pass has suffered a ten-week set back which has ended any hopes of a summer opening. It had been hoped that the new road, which is being built on the eastern side of the village, would be ready next month, but the latest prediction is for a November opening. An official for Hereford-Worcester County Council said difficulty getting hardcore for the base of the road, and time taken correcting soft spots in low-lying land, were responsible for the delay.
