Evesham: Edwin Wilfred Bomford, of Cowsdean Hall, Upton Snodsbury, was summoned to Evesham Petty Sessions for riding a bicycle without a light on the Worcester Road on June 15. Defendant pleaded guilty. PC Johnson proved the case. Defendant told him he could not get the lamp to burn; it was a borrowed one. Fined 2s and costs 7s 6d.

July 10, 1926

Hampton: At a meeting of Hampton Parish Council, on the motion of the Chairman, it was decided to instruct the Clerk to write to the Superintendent of Police at Evesham, asking him to take what precautions he could against the rowdyism of summer campers on the river bank at Hampton, and also that the Clerk write to the Evesham Rural District Council asking that proper sanitary arrangements be made for the campers.

Evesham: Pigeons owned by Vale of Evesham fanciers have been entered for the 'pigeon grand national' this weekend. The birds will be released in Pau in the South of France on Friday. Their homeward flight will be over 600 miles and their estimated time of arrival is stated to be tea-time on Saturday.

July 8, 1976

Evesham: Four divers went treasure hunting in a medieval well in Evesham on Sunday. The hunt was in the garden of the Almonry Museum and was carried out by members of the Redditch Sub Aqua Club. All they found were some scraps of Victorian china, chunks of wood and a red roof tile.
